Milwaukee (April 6, 2018) – Stella Van Buren, downtown Milwaukee’s modern Italian steakhouse, announced Zach Espinosa as Executive Chef. Espinosa has been in culinary arts for more than 20 years and brings a deep passion for local, fresh ingredients that celebrate Wisconsin. Espinosa says he works to showcase what is best about where we live through his food and we are thrilled to welcome him as Executive Chef.

At Stella Van Buren, Espinosa will be part of ongoing menu development for the restaurant originally concepted by White Lodging and James Beard Award nominee Andrew Ashmore. The chef-driven menu takes a fresh approach to the Italian-American steakhouse with the flavors of a classic Italian kitchen and food that appeals to today’s diner. Espinosa will oversee the culinary team to ensure the quality and consistency for which Stella has become known, as well as bring more local flavors to the menu and create chef-inspired specials. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner, featuring premium cut steaks and pastas prepared fresh daily.

Prior to taking the helm at Stella Van Buren, Espinosa served a variety of roles with Bartolotta Restaurant Group, including Executive Chef of Mr. B’s and Harbor House and Executive Sous Chef at Lake Park Bistro. Espinosa launched Bartolotta's catering operation at Pier Wisconsin and served as Executive Chef of the Grain Exchange. He also managed the development of menus for the opening of three restaurants at Wauwatosa's Mayfair Collection.

Stella Van Buren is located at 550 N. Van Buren Street. In addition to its celebrated food menu, Stella’s high-end bar menu contains a meticulously curated selection of bourbon, an extensive wine list and a draft beer list that is entirely from Wisconsin breweries. Valet parking is always complimentary.
